In 1929, the founder Cesare Berti started a carpentry workshop, and the knowledge of timber gained over the years enabled him to expand his business into timber trade in the early 1950s and acquire new markets.

In 1971 Cesare with his sons Silvano and Giancarlo founded P.B. Parchettificio Berti, the first company in the industry to adopt computerized parquet sorting lines, while the timber trading business under Silvano’s leadership expanded and in 1980 occupied a larger area in Villa del Conte, where the company is still based today.

During the 1990s, the sawmill and timber trade business increased the quantity and range of timber products it dealt with by specializing in European and North American hardwood and in softwood species.

Berti Silvano s.r.l., with more than 70 years experience in woodworking, has established itself as a leading player for all companies using and/or manufacturing wood products, such as furniture manufactures, construction companies, fixtures and fittings, funeral casket manufacturers, etc.
